THE jury in the Birkby firebomb murder trial continued its deliberations today after one of its members recovered from illness.

The male juror's absence had led to the jury being sent home yesterday.

But today he was declared fit and well to continue at Leeds Crown Court.

Five young girls, their mother, their uncle and their grandmother died in a fire which swept through Osborne Road, Birkby, last May.

Shaied Iqbal, 26, of Springdale Road, Nazar Hussain, 24, of Dryclough Road, and Shakiel Shazad, 23, of Gledholt Road, all in Huddersfield, each deny eight counts of murder at Leeds Crown Court.

They also deny conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.
