A MAN has appeared in court charged with stealing from town centre buildings.

Patrick Nash, 42, of Osbourne Road, Birkby, appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday via a prison video link.

Nash is accused of trespassing on to several premises and stealing items.

On January 22 he is alleged to have entered the Central Services Building at the Huddersfield University Queensgate campus and stolen £600 of computer equipment.

On January 30 he is accused of stealing ladies’ handbags from The Left Bank in Byram Arcade and entering Urban Escape and the Magic Vintage Store with the intent to steal.

On the same day he is also alleged to have stolen mobile phones from the United Response charity.

Magistrates granted Nash conditional bail.

Nash will next appear in court on March 17 for a committal hearing to crown court.
