A BIRKBY mother-of-one will not face trial in relation to illegal firearms and the possession of drugs with intent supply, after her 28-year-old co-accused admitted responsibility.

Charlie Maclean, of Corby Street, Birkby, was charged with a series of offences after police found two prohibited firearms as well as ammunition and quantities of Class B and C drugs at her home last October.

Yesterday the 35-year-old appeared in the dock at Bradford Crown Court alongside Dino Otis Liburd, who was staying with her at the property when the discovery was made last year.

Liburd yesterday admitted possessing the prohibited weapons: a .455 Webley Colt 1911 government model semi-automatic pistol and a .410 double-barrelled side-by-side hammer shot pistol, as well as possessing four bulletted cartridges and various quantities of drugs including MCAT and GHB.

It is understood that Liburd has admitted he was looking after the drugs and guns for a couple of days.

Maclean did plead guilty to a charge of possessing a small quantity of cannabis and she will be sentenced for that offence when she and Liburd are back in court on February 6.

Maclean’s not guilty pleas to all other charges were accepted by the prosecution.

Prosecutor Simon Reevell told Judge Alistair McCallum that Liburd had been storing the guns, ammunition and drugs at the house without his co-accused’s knowledge.

Maclean had her bail extended until next month and Liburd was remanded back into custody.

Maclean’s bail includes a night-time curfew at her home and a ban on having any contact with Liburd.
