A PENSIONER was subjected to a terrifying ordeal when she awoke to find intruders in her home, demanding she hand over cash.

The suspects cruelly shone a torch in her face while demanding cash which caused her to pass out in shock.

The nasty incident happened on Thursday, May 30, but police only released details last night.

Intruders broke in between 3am and 4.20am when the woman was sleeping at her home in Leslie Street, Birkby.

The two suspects wearing dark clothing smashed a downstairs window and entered the property.

They searched the ground floor before heading upstairs.

They then demanded the money and shone the torch in her face.

The suspects made off with around £200 cash.

The victim has been left shaken but was uninjured.
