A BIRKBY woman has been fined after being caught speeding twice.

Julie Burnett, of Halifax Old Road, appeared before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

She was caught twice exceeding the speed limit on the A629 Wakefield Road.

Alex Bozman, prosecuting, said that the first incident occurred on November 6 between Silver Street and Smithy Lane.

He said that Burnett was clocked driving at 36mph at just after 3pm.

The second offence happened on November 24 between Almondbury Bank and Gelder Terrace.

Burnett, 51, pleaded guilty to the two charges.

She was ordered to pay £100 fine, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

Burnett’s licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.
