FIRE crews fought a blaze at a former mill in Hinchliffe Mill, near Holmfirth.

The blaze broke out on the second floor of the derelict building in Water Street and flames spread to the roof minutes after the fire was spotted shortly after 6.15pm last night.

Firefighters from Holmfirth, Meltham, Slaithwaite and Huddersfield were called to the scene and used two large jets to tackle the blaze.

The cause is under investigation.
