A HUGE blaze has destroyed a mill.
Flames were spotted inside the three-storey mill on Northgate in Cleckheaton at 6pm last night and the first fire crew on the scene immediately called for back-up.
The fire had taken a firm hold and was raging through the top two floors.
Six fire engines, two aerial platforms and other specialist appliances were sent to tackle the inferno.
At its height 50 firefighters were at the scene.
Once the flames were doused and the blaze brought under control, crews spent the night damping down. The final engine left the scene at 5am today.
Investigators were due to examine the debris today in a bid to pinpoint the cause of the fire.
Overheated wool caused a fire scare at a mill.
A large industrial dryer used to dry wool caught fire at Ravens Ing Mills, Ravensthorpe, at 1.10am today.
The fire was confined to the machine and little damage was caused. The mill was evacuated during the drama.
