NEIGHBOURS fighting plans for a waste collection site in Mirfield are set to suffer a blow.
Planning permission was granted last year for a waste transfer station at Station Road, Lower Hopton.
It is yet to be built, but agents for the owners have now applied to change a restriction to ban handling of material which rots or smells.
A decision is expected tomorrow and planners are backing the change.
The agents for owners P and P Wilkinson said the restrictions would prevent them handling paper, cardboard, wood and plastics.
Seventy-three people have lodged objections to the easing of restrictions.
Planning officials say in a report to Kirklees Council's area planning sub-committee that hazardous materials would still be banned.
