Fire engine — Fire engines were called to River Calder this morning.

A man's body has been retrieved from the River Calder this morning.

Police, ambulance and fire crews made the grim discovery near Anchor Place after 5am. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Firefighter Andrew Pearson of Brighouse Fire Station said: "Two of our water technicians have entered the waist-high water and brought him onto the bank for the paramedics to check."
