BOGUS roofers tried to con a woman with mental health problems out of hundreds of pounds.

Police have issued this e-fit of one of the suspects following the incident last month.

He was one of two men who went to the 77-year-old’s house on Cross Lane in Skelmanthorpe on February 12.

The pair claimed they were there to carry out roof repairs that had not been requested, and later charged her £120 for two hours’ work.

They left her with a hand-written receipt before returning two days later claiming they needed to finish the job, at a further cost of £700.

Police said the two men were about to drive off with their victim to a cash machine when witnesses turned up. They then left in their own car.
