Army bomb disposal experts were last night called to deal with a suspicious device found in a house.

A routine police search on a terraced house in Gledholt Bank, Huddersfield, this morning resulted in the find.

The Examiner understands officers became suspicious and the army was drafted in.

This evening a bomb disposal truck, two police video vans and two marked police cars were parked on the road opposite.

The house is just up from the railway bridge.

Police cones were on the road outside and police and army personnel were going in and out.

Neighbours remained in their homes and the road remained open.
