THREE £1 capital bonds certificates could help police solve a burglary.

They recovered the bonds as part of a probe into burglaries in Dewsbury.

The bonds are thought to have been stolen - but no-one has so far told the police they have had them taken.

A police spokes- woman said: "The bonds are for £1 each and were given out by people working for a legitimate company in exchange for empty cigarette packets.

"We have spoken to the company providing the bonds which has provided a list of people they have distributed these capital bonds to."

But she said that according to the company's records, none of the bonds was distributed in the Dewsbury area.

She added: "The bonds may have been given to the victim, perhaps by a family member or friend, and the victim may not realise the bonds have been stolen."
