KIND-HEARTED shoppers are helping to support Kirkwood Hospice.
Shoppers are giving books to a stall at Holmfirth Co-op which are then sold to other customers.
The idea has proved to be popular, raising thousands of pounds for two charities so far.
Steven Cooper, store manager at Holmfirth Co-op said: “We started the book stall last year and raised £5,000 for the Children’s Society.
“It was so successful with customers that we decided to carry it on this year and we have raised hundreds already.
“We decided to support Kirkwood Hospice this time because it is such an important local charity and a place that so many people have experience of.”
The shop is appealing for people to continue giving books.
