TOWN fans are to get the chance to buy bottled beers at Galpharm games.
The Fantastic Media Stand will host test runs at three home games in a bid to speed up service and help the club’s recyling drive.
The trial will take place at Town’s home fixtures against Bristol Rovers on October 18, Yeovil Town on October 28 and Crewe Alexandra on November 1, with bottles of Carlsberg being sold in the Fantastic Media Stand Upper Tier.
The bottles will be served without lids as per safety requirements and can be consumed in the concourse area only.
Town’s director of business development, Sean Jarvis, said: “I have to praise the safety panel here at the Galpharm Stadium for allowing this trial and I would like to stress its importance to our fans. Should this trial period go well, we will definitely look to extend it to the other stands within the ground.
“By serving bottles of Carlsberg, we should speed up the service at the concessions considerably. There is also a reduced chance of spilling your beer and you can carry more, so it’s a win-win situation for everyone!”
The Galpharm Stadium will be recycling the bottles following the game – a first for the venue.
Stadium operations manager Phil Armitage said: “Recycling the bottles is a first for us here at the Stadium and also for SITA, our waste disposal company. It will reduce the amount of waste that we produce and will reduce costs.”
