A 10-YEAR-OLD boy badly hurt in a road accident is in a stable condition in hospital.

The pedestrian suffered serious head and leg injuries when he was in an accident with a motorbike on Manchester Road in Marsden at 4pm on Monday.

He was flown by the South Yorkshire Air Ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary for specialist treatment.

It was the second serious accident on that stretch of road within a couple of months.

In February an eight-year-old boy was hurt outside Marsden Junior School.
