A fourteen-year-old boy was arrested after an incident outside McDonalds in Huddersfield.
Police say the youth allegedly punched a middle-aged man who had kicked and stamped on his bike minutes earlier.
Police say the incident occurred just before 8pm on Sunday night outside the McDonalds restaurant at Kirkgate, Huddersfield town centre.
Det Insp Jim Griffiths of Kirklees CID said: “The lad remonstrated with him and the 56-year-old has pushed him which ended with the lad punching him once in self defence.”
Police were called and the man was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment for his facial injuries.
The boy was arrested on suspicion of assault but was later released without charge following the review of CCTV covering the scene.
Det Insp Griffiths added: “No further action is being taken with regard to both parties.”
