A TEENAGER was arrested early today by detectives hunting the killer of Jason Ripley.
The 16-year-old boy was detained in Huddersfield by police in the early hours.
He is now being questioned about the alleged murder of 17-year-old Jason a week ago today.
Jason, a promising schoolboy boxer, died last Thursday after an incident in Sheepridge.
He suffered stab wounds outside the Jack Pearson betting shop in Sheepridge Road and died hours later in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Jason lived with his family in Dalton.
A police spokesman said today: "A 16-year- old local youth was arrested early today on suspicion of the murder of Jason Ripley on February 17 at Sheepridge.
"He is now being questioned by police officers at Huddersfield."
