A 15-year-old youth appeared in court after sexually assaulting a woman in an alleyway.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The offence happened in Longwood on July 30.

The boy admitted at an earlier hearing to the charge of intentionally touching a woman aged over 16 without her consent.

The boy also pleaded guilty a string of other charges over various dates between April and November.

These included theft from a woman and stealing meat from Sainsbury’s branches in Lindley and Salendine Nook.

In addition the teenager admitted assault, failing to surrender to court and criminal damage to a window.

His case was adjourned until December 12 for a report to be prepared before his sentencing.

District Judge Marie Mallon told him that she was very concerned about his sexualised behaviour.

She added that he posed a risk to others but she was also concerned about him as he was vulnerable.
