BRIGHOUSE band Embrace today unveiled their World Cup song - a rousing anthem telling England's squad "There's no one you can't beat".

And lead singer Danny McNamara, 35, revealed that the idea came to him while he was in the bath!

The guitar band hope the nation will be singing along to: "You know it's going to be our time/Cause the world is at your feet".

The song, which does not feature any vocal contributions from footballers, was being given radio airtime for the first time today.

Since it was announced last month that the indie band had been chosen to record the official song, the lyrics have been a closely-guarded secret.

The group are keeping their fingers crossed that World At Your Feet will go straight to the top of the charts when it is released on June 5.

"You never know. But if Crazy Frog release a single, it will get no chance," McNamara joked.

"It won't bother us either way. It's more important that people like it."

The singer wanted to capture "the feeling you get when even your grandmother wants to watch the telly because England are doing well, the feeling that the nation feels like the place to be".

He added: "When England are doing well, we all sit down and watch. I didn't want to get into the offside rule or Bobby Charlton.

"I wanted to write something that was a bit more universal.

"If you didn't know about football you could take it as more general, it could be about a loved one or a relationship or whatever.

"And if you do know about football there are a lot of direct references in there."

He said the lyrics took a fortnight to write. "As soon as I got the title, it kind of wrote itself," he explained.

The unveiling of the song comes as Embrace sold out their outdoor gig in Sherwood Forest.

All 5,000 tickets have been snapped up for the show on June 23.

The band are yet to make the video for their World Cup effort but would love to feature cameo appearances from the likes of Wayne Rooney and David Beckham.

McNamara said of the track: "It was a really nerve-racking experience. But I think I've sung better than ever. I love it. It's one of the best things we've ever done."

They are hoping that World At Your Feet will "raise the spirits" and help the England squad bring back the trophy this summer.

McNamara said: "We've got as good a chance as any time we've had since 1990. We just need a bit of luck on the way."

Bassist Steven Firth added: "I always think we're going to win."

A raft of unofficial rival World Cup tunes are also set for release, such as the People's Anthem with former footballer John Barnes.

But McNamara said: "I think it's cool. It's about whether it's good or bad, not whether it's official or unofficial."

He said he had no idea whether the band were getting any cash for playing the World Cup song.

"I've got literally no idea. That was my dad's first question. It frustrates him that I don't keep an eye on that sort of thing."

World At Your Feet

You're the first in my life

To make me think

That we might just go all the way

And I want you to know we're all hanging on

They'll come and yes they'll try

To break us down

But we know that we'll never lose

If we keep moving forward and don't look back

With the world at your feet

There's no one you can't beat

Yes it can be done

With the world at your feet

There's no height you can't reach

This could be the one

It's calling, it's calling you now

You know it's going to be our time

`Cause the world is at your feet, yes the world is at your feet

Like stars in the sky burning bright

Seen by a billion eyes know I

Want you to know we're all turned your way

You'll lift it up

With one proud kiss

There's nothing else

That feels like this

So lift your arms

And everyone sing

With the world at your feet

There's no one you can't beat

Yes it can be done

With the world at your feet

There's no height you can't reach

This could be the one

It's calling, it's calling you now

You know it's going to be our time

`Cause the world is at your feet, yes the world is at your feet
