TWO men have appeared in court accused of burgling a sandwich shop.

Stephen Newbould, 26, and Thomas Ratcliffe, 25, were before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

They are accused of entering Subway at Wakefield Road in Moldgreen as trespassers with intent to steal.

The alleged offence took place in the early hours of December 17.

The men are accused of forcing entry into the shop before taking £100 cash from the till.

They allegedly caused £2,000 worth of damage, including tampering with the alarm system.

Both men deny the charge and face trial at the Huddersfield court.

They were granted conditional bail until March 11, when their trial will take place.

Ratcliffe’s bail conditions include residence at Cleckheaton Road in Bradford and an electronically-monitored curfew.

Newbould must reside at Huddersfield Road in Bradford and answer doorstep checks during his curfew.

Both men were also ordered to keep away from each other and prosecution witnesses.
