AN acclaimed chef has linked up with a coffee distributor in Huddersfield to brew up more business.

Bradley firm Cooper’s Coffee created an exclusive blend for chef Anthony Flinn and installed its premium Italian Dalla Corte espresso machine equipment and grinders in his four Leeds restaurants.

In return, the celebrated chef will help raise Dalla Corte’s profile in the UK for Cooper’s Coffee – one of the trophy winners in the 2008 Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards.

Flinn has been hailed by some of the UK’s most respected critics and applauded for his creativity and unusual dishes.

Mr Flinn opened his first restaurant, Anthony’s, in 2004 on Boar Lane, Leeds.

The fine-dining restaurant remains a family-run business and is acclaimed as one of the most exciting restaurants in Yorkshire.Š

Since then, the family has opened Anthony’s at Flannels and Anthony’s Patisserie in the Victoria Quarter.

Dalla Corte espresso machines are among the most renowned and used by the world’s finest baristas.

Cooper’s has installed coffee machine and grinder at Anthony’s Boar Lane restaurant and a larger machine and grinder at Anthony’s Pâtisserie.

Equipment has also been installed at the chef’s latest Leeds city centre venture, The Piazza by Anthony.

The 125-seat restaurant covers 13,200sq ft at the refurbished Corn Exchange. It includes a brasserie, cafe and bar with a contemporary look.

The exclusive blend of coffee Cooper’s has developed for the chef consists of four different coffees from Ethiopia, Brazil, Guatemala and Honduras. Flinn chose the blend following a blind tasting session, selecting the most expensive blend for his restaurants.

As part of the deal with Cooper’s Coffee, Mr Flinn’s staff will receive intensive barista training to operate the equipment – and make coffee to the very highest standard.

David Cooper, managing director of Cooper’s Coffee, said: “We are proud to be working in partnership with such an acclaimed and exciting young chef.

“We know that he will portray all the passion and excitement of the brand and help us take Dalla Corte to a wider audience.”

Cooper’s was established in 1989 – operating from a small back bedroom in Leeds before moving to Bradley.
