BETTY Munt made a strange discovery when she opened a book she bought in a Huddersfield charity shop.

The Bradley woman found three school reports from Oakes County Junior School dating back to the 1950s.

The reports from 1956, 1958 and 1959 are for someone called Lynne Robinson.

Comments include that she is “very good at maths, but sometimes careless” and her English is “good as a whole”.

Betty, 68, said: “I thought they were nice and that no-one would want to lose them.”

Betty, of Wilton Avenue, said: “They are good reports – she seemed to be a girl who tried hard.

“ I never got a report so good!”

Betty is keen to find the former schoolgirl.

She said: “I think Lynne will want them or, if she’s no longer with us, her children will want them.”

Betty bought the books in either the Help The Aged shop or the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust charity shop.

“They must have been treasured,” she added, “as no-one would have kept them safe for this long.

“They are in a good condition and I think someone will appreciate having them back.”

Anyone with information about Lynne can call the Examiner newsdesk on 01484 437712.
