THE world's largest recruitment company has opened a branch in Huddersfield.

Adecco, which has more than 350 branches in the UK and 5,800 worldwide, has set up an office at St Peter's Street in the town centre.

Branch manager Jenny MacDougall and area manager Kelly Kendall are looking to recruit two staff for the new site.

And Adecco will stage an open day at the branch from 10.30am to 3pm on Saturday November 12 for jobhunters.

The branch is focusing on a range of sectors, including industrial and secretarial.

Ms MacDougall said: "Huddersfield is going from strength to strength in terms of economic growth.

"As a result, new and existing businesses have been flourishing in the area - with a resulting increasing demand for employees."

Ms Kendall said: "The region has a lot of skilled workers in a number of industries and it is our aim to bring together the correct match of jobseekers and employers."

The Huddersfield office is one of 70 to be opened by Adecco across the UK this year, where it serves 32,000 client organisations and retains more than 33,000 temporary workers.

Adecco has offices in more than 60 countries, employing 28,000 staff and placing 250,000 clients a year.
