A brave woman chased two men who mugged her in Huddersfield.

She ran after them despite being cut on her arm as they used a knife to grab her handbag.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the robbery outside a sandwich shop in Leeds Road.

The offence happened shortly before 2pm last Friday, when the 51-year-old female victim was approached by two men.

One of the men made demands for her bag before cutting the straps with a bladed instrument, causing a minor injury to the victim’s arm.

The men made off with the handbag and were chased by the victim along Leeds Road before making their way on across the playing fields and into a waiting burgundy car.

Both were white and aged between 30 and 35-years-old. One of the men was 6ft 3ins tall, of skinny build, either bald or with a shaved head, of pale complexion with a scar on the right-hand side of his face. He was wearing light blue jeans, trainers and a baseball cap.

The other man is described as around 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, wearing a dark blue tracksuit.
