A HEALTH care assistant from Huddersfield Royal Infirmary is planning to raise £1,000 for Breast Cancer Care after having her own health scare.
Dee Riley found a lump on her breast before Christmas and, although it turned out to be a cyst, decided she wanted to raise some funds.
“I was really worried,” she said. “But the care I received from everyone here was superb. When I found it was a cyst I burst into tears of relief and thought if I could do something to help the charity it would be great.”
Dee and her colleague, Sandra Steele, raised £400 after organising a pink party in January.
She is now planning a cake stall and tombola at HRI on April 22 along with a sponsored walk in June.
