BREAST cancer patients are set to take centre stage at a fashion show.

Thirty-five women will become catwalk models, strutting their stuff in designer wear.

The women are all aged between 34 and 79 and patients with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

They are at various stages of their cancer journeys, some having Some have completed treatment while others are still undergoing it.

The emotional event, organised by nurses from the trust’s breast unit, aims to motivate and inspire patients.

The women will be cheered on by family and friends as they model the latest fashions, helped by beauticians and hairdressers.

The show will be directed and presented by Bernadette Gledhill from the Morton Model Agency.

The popular event is now in its fifth year and takes place at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, on September 21.

Breast care specialist nurse Veronica Allinson said: "The event is extremely successful.

"Tickets go like hot cakes and there is always a waiting list and lots of disappointed people."

Tickets cost £10, with all sales and raffles going towards the cost of the show.
