A MAJOR brewer's decision to put general health warnings on beer bottles and cans has been welcomed by Colne Valley Labour MP Kali Mountford.
Scottish and Newcastle will next month become the first big brewer in the world to put the message on its Newcastle Brown Ale, before extending it to other brands.
The company's warnings will contain the message: "Responsible drinkers don't exceed three to four units a day for men, two to three for women".
Ms Mountford said: "This is very good news. It's good to see a company in the food and drink industry showing such a responsible attitude and I hope others will follow suit."
