TWO Huddersfield brothers accused of grievous bodily harm have been cleared.

The jury returned not guilty verdicts on Marc and Danny Boothroyd, who were alleged to have beaten a father with a brick in a revenge attack.

The incident – which left Brian Monkhouse with several injuries – happened on May 13, 2007.

And the Examiner can today publish a photo for the first time of Mr Monkhouse immediately afterwards.

The jury decided the evidence was insufficient and found the brothers innocent.

The jury was sent to deliberate shortly after 10.30am yesterday at Bradford Crown Court after a five-day trial.

It took the eight men and four women just under two hours to return the verdicts.

Marc, 18, of Equilibrium flats at Oakes, and Danny, 20, of Cow Heys, Dalton, cheered as they left the court with friends after Judge Peter Benson told them they were free to leave.

Earlier in the trial their father Danny Boothroyd Snr, 42, of Long Lane, Dalton, was acquitted of encouraging his sons to attack Mr Monkhouse.
