MEMBERS of the public donated more than £687 to help run Brighouse Charity Gala.
The procession raised £687.41 on its route from Garden Road Recreation Ground to Wellholme Park on June 30.
The money raised is used to run the annual gala and boost the monies raised by the charities and community groups attending the gala.
The street permit was issued to the gala secretary, Miss Salma Kalsoom.
The charity gala attracted thousands of people to Brighouse, despite the rain that fell during the afternoon.
The total amount raised on the day will be announced at the Brighouse Charity Gala AGM, when members distribute funds to charity.
It usually takes place in September or October.
