PUPILS in Brighouse are being told not to walk home alone after an ‘indecent approach’.

Brighouse High School today issued a warning to all pupils.

It comes after reports of a man, said to be in his 40s or 50s, acting suspiciously in the town.

But a spokesman for West Yorkshrie Police was unable to say what the incident was.

The message on the school’s website, headed ‘Important safety announcement’ from headteacher Liz Cresswell says: "It has been brought to my attention that an adult male (aged late 40s/50s) has been acting suspiciously in the Brighouse area.

"As a safety precaution we are asking all pupils to ensure that they do not walk to or from school alone and that they avoid lonely short cuts.

"This seems a sensible action in the circumstances and should help avoid panic."

Pupils and Brighouse residents reported on Twitter that someone had been "inappropriately approached" in the town.
