SHOPPERS will be getting some crime prevention advice with their weekly shop.
Brighouse police will be at a town centre supermarket and a rugby club this weekend as part of their work to cut car crime.
Members of the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team will be fitting anti-theft screws to numberplates free of charge.
Sgt Dean Maddocks, of Brighouse police, said: “The aim is to reduce the theft of numberplates in the Lower Valley and the purchase of the screws is through the Proceeds of Crime Act, which is money recovered from criminals, so it is a win win all round.”
Police will be at Old Brods Rugby Club, Denholme Gate Road, Hipperholme, on Saturday, July 21, from 9am to 11am.
Then on Sunday the officers will be at Sainsburys, Mill Lane, Brighouse town centre, from 9am until 11am.
