A CHARITY day kick-started a football partnership.
Brighouse Juniors have teamed up with Rastrick-based Millers Oils.
Brighouse Juniors are looking to expand its operations and improve the facilities at its Broad Oak Park base.
Millers Oils has committed to a long term deal and financial support that will help the club move closer to realising the installation of all-weather surfaces at the ground.
Ian Addy, chairman of Brighouse Juniors Football Club, said: “The support will not only be a massive boost to our current crop of teams, but will help lay foundations for the next generation of young footballers to get involved in the national sport.”
Nevil Hall, joint managing director at Millers Oils, added: “With public sector cuts set to make it difficult for many local sports clubs across Yorkshire to function, I believe it is important that organisations with the ability to support their local institutions do so.”
Brighouse Juniors, which was formed in 1989, has 30 teams from under six to under 18 levels, with more than 400 youngsters playing football.
On Sunday the club held a charity day at its Halifax Road ground in support of the CLIC Sargent children’s cancer charity.
