A HUDDERSFIELD accountant is celebrating after reaching the quarter finals of TV’s Countdown.
Chris Marshall, 30, fought-off stiff competition to win eight games in a row on the Channel 4 show.
The Brighouse man will now be called back to the studio in November to film the quarter finals for a chance to become Countdown’s 2012 champion.
Chris, who works at Wheawill and Sudworth accountants on Westgate, Huddersfield town centre, said: “I’m delighted to have remained unbeaten after all eight games and to be going back for the quarter finals later in the year.
“I went on just hoping to get over 70 points and not make a fool of myself.
“But I ended up getting over 70 in all eight games which I never expected.
“I will keep up the practise and hopefully do well in the finals.”
He will now return for filming at the new Media City studios in Salford, which will be screened in December.
