A BRANCH of McDonalds has asked for permission to vary its trading hours.
The Brighouse branch, at Bradford Road, has temporary permission to trade between 6am and 11pm.
Now they want to make it permanent.
When the ‘drive- thru’ was opened in 2002 it had permission to trade between 7am and 11pm.
Last year they asked for permission for longer opening hours as part of a trial, meaning the branch would open at 6am.
Hollie Howe, agent for the fast food chain, says in a letter submitted with the planning application: “It is important to note that the restaurant is located on a busy road which already experiences higher than average vehicular movements and associated noise.
“The restaurant attracts the bulk of its customers from passing trade – vehicles already on the road – and as a result we do not anticipate there to be any increase in traffic or associated noise as a result of this application.”
Members of the public can make representations to Calderdale Council as part of the planning process.
