A top local musician has been spared a jail term for child sex crimes.
Stuart Lingard, who plays cornet with the world-famous Brighouse and Rastrick Band, was given a three-year supervision order.
He pleaded guilty at Leeds Crown Court to four counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of sexual activity in the presence of a child.
The offences were said to have happened in Rochdale between 2009 and 2011.
Lingard, 38, lives in Oldham. He must also sign the sex-offenders’ register for five years.
