COMMUTERS could face chaos from today as part of a busy road closes for gas works.
Disruption is likely along Huddersfield Road in Brighouse when Northern Gas Networks start 12 weeks of work.
Motorists are advised to allow for extra time when the works at the junction with Bird Royds Lane and Cliffe Road get under way.
Over the next 12 weeks the Northern Gas Networks will replace 361 metres of ageing metal mains as part of the £50,000 project.
Huddersfield Road is the main road in and out of Brighouse from Huddersfield.
And although it is a largely a residential road, the works are expected to cause chaos to anyone travelling in and out of the town.
