A SCHOOL is hoping its sports department will be pitch perfect.

Brighouse High School has applied for permission for a new artificial grass sports pitch, higher fencing and floodlights with pedestrian access.

The pitch will be used for football, rugby and training sessions.

It will replace part of the Finkil Street school’s natural grass playing field.

The school was given permission for an artificial pitch in 2004, but work was never done and the planning approval has lapsed.

A new application has been submitted to Calderdale Council and is open to public comments.
