A MARKET full of local produce is back in Brighouse.

The town will host its second Totally Locally Market this year. The market will bring together farm shops, artists and craftsmen. On Saturday, August 27, stalls will take over much of the town centre’s streets offering produce grown or made within 30 miles.

Lesley Adams of Simply Flowers in Brighouse and one of the event organisers, said: “The first Totally Locally Market was really well supported – it was a true celebration of local foods and crafts, with hundreds of people enjoying the day. So we decided to run the event for a second time and we are looking forward to welcoming lots of new stalls to the market.”

The Totally Locally campaign was launched in 2009 to boost awareness of local food and drink suppliers and change shoppers’ habits. At the last event in Brighouse traders sold out and had to re-stock due to the number of visitors. Funds on the day will be donated to Overgate Hospice and West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.
