A TEENAGER has appeared in court accused of making thousands of child porn images.

Alex Hill, of Halifax Road in Brighouse, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He faces 21 charges of making indecent photographs and movies.

The 19-year-old is alleged to have had 2,018 level one images, 10 at level two, 114 at level three, 306 at level four and six level five images.

Level five images are the most serious and show sadism or involve an animal.

Hill is also alleged to have had three level one movies of children.

The ages of the boys and girls said to have been involved are between five and 16.

Bill Astin, prosecuting, told magistrates that the offences came to light as part of an investigation by Interpol in Luxembourg.

The prosecutor said that the international organisation alerted police to child abuse material found on a server.

This was traced to Hill’s address, Mr Astin said.

Hill, smartly dressed in a blue shirt and tie and dark trousers, gave no indication as to what his plea would be.

Magistrates agreed that the case should be dealt with by a crown court.

Hill will next appear before the Huddersfield court on December 27.

He was granted unconditional bail.
