TEENAGE comedian Jack Carroll is back among the awards.

But this time, the youngster who wowed the judges in TV’s Britain’s Got Talent and was runner-up in the talent show will be helping to hand out the prizes.

The 14-year-old Brighouse High School pupil will co-host the third annual Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards alongside BBC Breakfast business reporter Steph McGovern.

Jack, who has become an ambassador for the event after being honoured at the 2011 awards, said he was delighted to give his support.

He said: “I am proud to be associated with the great work done by all at the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards.”

Jack and Steph will present 10 awards to inspirational young people from Yorkshire when the celebrity-studded event takes place on October 4 at New Dock Hall, Leeds.

The awards will honour young people who have shown outstanding heroism; endured pain, suffering and disability; devoted their young lives to caring; or attained outstanding sporting achievements.

Nominations can be made online at the website until September 1.

Jack, who lives at Hipperholme, has celebral palsy, a condition which results in impaired muscle co-ordination.

Following his appearances on BGT, he has performed to a sell-out audience at Huddersfield’s Lawrence Batley Theatre with comedy star Jason Manford and has been signed up by Jason’s agent, Lisa Thomas Management, who also represent comedy stars John Bishop, Ellie Taylor and Jason Byrne.
