PEOPLE are being urged to hold nostalgic fundraising events to celebrate the British Heart Foundation’s 50th birthday.

The charity was founded in July 1961 and people are being asked to organise a 1960s themed party to celebrate.

Sue Green, West Yorkshire fundraising and volunteer manager for the BHF, said: “We hope as many people as possible will help us celebrate this milestone with fun-filled fundraising.”

People are also being asked to raise funds for the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal, the biggest fundraising appeal ever launched in the BHF’s history.

Whether it’s hosting a birthday bash, a dinner party, coffee morning, quiz, dance or a sponsored challenge every person in West Yorkshire really can make a difference and help give hope to millions.
