HUDDERSFIELD businesses are being urged to get involved with National No Smoking Day – as the health campaign celebrates its 30th year.

The British Heart Foundation is asking firms to help spread the word to employees who smoke about stop smoking information and support in their local area.

The theme for No Smoking Day 2013 is “swap fags for swag” – encouraging smokers to think about the financial benefits of quitting.

An average smoker could save £7 a day, £49 a week, £210 a month and £2,555 a year by ditching cigarettes for good.

The 2013 campaign will be launched officially on Wednesday, February 27 – giving smokers two weeks to see their GP or stop smoking adviser, tell their family and friends and stock up on quit aids such as patches and gum so they’re ready to ditch the cigarettes for good on No Smoking Day on Wednesday, March 13.

Businesses can join the campaign on twitter by using the hashtag #NoSmokingDay.

They can download a free organiser’s pack to help them organise No Smoking Day events and activities at www.nosmokingday.org.uk
