HELPING hands are required to help tidy up the towpath on Huddersfield Broad Canal.
British Waterways staff will be leading the “spring clean” on Friday, March 12 – and will be joined by members of the public, Kirklees Council employees and Environment Agency personnel.
The clean-up brigade will meet at 9.30am on Old Fieldhouse Lane, off Leeds Road, for a safety briefing before getting down to work picking up litter and removing graffiti.
Volunteers can spend as much or as little time as they want on the day.
Activities will also include painting locks and tackling overgrown vegetation.
All equipment and tools will be provided, but volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and wrap up warm!
Lunch will be provided, but volunteers should bring drinks and snacks.
