Fire spreads to home from shed
A HOUSEHOLDER battled a blaze with his garden hose. Fire broke out at a shed on River Holme View in Brockholes at 5am yesterday. The flames spread to a detached house six feet away, cracking the windows on the ground-floor and first-floor. The householder tried to stop the fire spreading with a garden hose before firefighters arrived. A crew from Huddersfield Fire Station spent about 30 minutes dealing with the blaze.The shed was destroyed in the incident. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
