TWO brothers and their friend were killed in a motorway crash on their way home from watching the England football team beat Kazakhstan at Wembley.

Tony Worby, 25, his brother Jonathan, 21, and Gareth Rhodes, 23, were in a silver Ford Mondeo which left the M1 in South Yorkshire on Saturday night.

The men were travelling back to their homes in Bradford when the tragedy happened at 9.40pm.

Police said the car went over a barrier and hit a road sign just past junction 32.

The junction is the exit slip road for the M18.

South Yorkshire Police said the car was travelling in the outside lane before it moved across the motorway to the hard shoulder, where it went over a barrier and struck a road sign.

All three men suffered head and internal injuries.

No-one else was in the car.
