TWO actors are masterminding a gala variety show in aid of a murdered West Yorkshire police officer's family.

Brothers Daniel Coll and Stuart Wade, of Brighouse, are organising the show to raise money for the family of Pc Sharon Beshenivsky.

She was gunned down in Bradford on November 18 when she answered a call about an armed robbery.

Pc Beshenivsky, a mother-of-three, died and her colleague, Pc Theresa Milburn, of Birstall, was wounded.

Now, stars from stage and television are planning to come together for a tribute.

The Gala Variety Night will take place on February 12 at St George's Hall, Bradford.

Star names already involved include Chris Chittel, who plays Eric Pollard in Emmerdale, Dean Gafney, who played Robbie Jackson in East- Enders, and ex-Brookside actor Michael Starky who played popular Scouse character Sinbad.

West End singer and winner of New Faces Michael Sterling, who played the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera and Valjean in Les Miserables, will be leading a cast of singer actors from London and Dublin.

The artists have had lead roles in Les Miserables, Billy Elliot, Aspects Of Love and many other West End Shows.

Other names involved include comedian Steve Womack, CBBC TV presenter Sophie McDonnell and ex Gladiator turned actor James Crossley.

The West Yorkshire Police Band will also take part in the show, along with local drama and dance groups.

Other star names are yet to be announced.

The two organisers decided to put on the show as their brother, Mark, is a police officer serving in the same division as the murdered officer.

Daniel has just got back to Yorkshire after a year playing Billy's alternate dad in Billy Elliot in London's West End.

Brother Stuart is best known for his role of Biff Fowler in Emmerdale.

Daniel said: "We got involved because we feel strongly that Sharon's family should be supported financially by the people.

"We aim to provide a superb night of entertainment full of music and laughter in a show that people in Bradford and West Yorkshire should talk about for years to come and that will pay tribute while raising money for the family of a very special woman."

Tickets for the show can be bought from St George's Hall Box Office on 01274 432000. Prices range from £8 to £50.
