A PHOTOGRAPHY competition will be the highlight of this year’s Kirkheaton Art Festival.

The festival over the weekend of May 29-31 will once again feature a wealth of talent in painting, sculpture, embroidery, live music and even quilting.

This year local schools will be submitting pieces of work and playing music and the new photography competition is open to all ages and will be judged by members from local photographic societies.

To encourage people to look at the communities of Kirkheaton, Dalton and Grange Moor, entries cover four topics: local people, local landscapes, local buildings and local nature.

All entries will be kept and put into Kirkheaton’s church archives. Entry forms are available from the parish office, School Lane, Kirkheaton.
