A BURGLAR climbed onto a charity shop roof to break in - and then fell through.
The intruder clambered onto the roof at the Kirkwood Hospice shop on Northgate in Almondbury at 6.40pm last night.
He is thought to have removed some tiles, but then the roof gave way under his weight and he plummeted through.
He damaged the roof and also smashed several items as he fell to the floor below.
He was so shocked he picked himself up and fled.
He is a mixed race man in his early 20s, 5ft 9ins and slim.
He wore a grey jumper, black trousers and a grey and black woolly hat.
Det Con Russ Conlon, of Kirklees CID intelligence unit, said: "Breaking into a charity shop and causing so much damage is despicable."
