INTRUDERS escaped when an alarm went off at the house they had broken into.

Two men were seen walking away from the property on Bradley Road in Bradley after the break-in at about 9.30pm on Thursday.

It is believed they had forced open the patio door but fled when the alarm was activated.

Neighbours who went to investigate saw two white men aged 18 to 20 getting in a car.

The padlock on a side gate had been broken to gain entry.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information about the break-in should call Sgt Jim Carter at Kirklees CID on 01484 436675 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
