ELDERLY people have been targeted during a spate of burglaries in Huddersfield this week.

A female burglar crept into the Dalton home of a 75-year-old woman on Thursday at 3.55pm.

The pensioner was in the house, on Longfield Avenue, when the incident occurred.

The burglar searched the house and made-off with three black handbags and cash.

She is described as a very slim white female, aged between 20 and 30, wearing a black coat with the hood up.

A Mount pensioner also caught a man attempting to break into his home on Mount Avenue on Tuesday at around 3.45pm.

The burglar was disturbed trying to force the rear door of the home.

His is described as white, 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in, in his late 40s, with dark hair.

He was wearing jeans and casual clothing is believed to have been driving an old green car.

A playstation and computer games were also stolen from a house on Newsome Road, Newsome, on Thursday.

Two white men are believed to have entered the house through an unlocked door at around 2.30pm.

One was wearing a white coat and the other had a black coat.
